King Crimson: Starless and Bible Black

LP Record Positioned between the sensational "Larks' Tongues in Aspic" and the lasting impact of "Red", the album "Starless & Bible Black" has often been overlooked in the King Crimson canon. Although largely unacknowledged by the public at the time of its release in March 1974, "Starless & Bible Black" is for the most part a live album – an experimental hybrid of concert recordings (mostly improvisations) and studio recordings. For much of the album, these two elements are so well-integrated that it is difficult to tell them apart. "Starless & Bible Black" combines the best of both worlds, while accurately presenting the unique identity of the line-up at that time.
