King's swift
In 1403, the Czech and Roman King Wenceslas IV. returns to Bohemia from captivity by his traitorous brother Sigismund. It is gradually taking back all its former powers, replacing the unreliable and treacherous persons around it with new loyal officials. One of them is the lord of Donín, the newly appointed royal swift, military commander of Kutná Hora, a town which is a key pillar of the king's power due to silver mining. Václav of Donín takes up his post in the hostile environment of the local conchels, trying to solve the mysteries posed by the medieval city and to find the perpetrators who are responsible not only for the treachery against the king himself, but also for the ruthless and insidious murders of the local inhabitants.
Together with the town crier, we walk through the medieval streets of the Mountain, through the show houses and shacks in the suburbs, descend into the medieval silver mine tunnels and weave through the many intrigues of the local royalty to solve the first of the mysterious cases.
