Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

Long before the events you know from Game of Thrones, the Targaryens sit firmly on the Iron Throne. This does not mean, however, that there is peace in Westeros. Fratricidal fighting within the ruling dynasty has torn the Seven Kingdoms apart. And it is at that time that a wandering knight, Ser Duncan the High, is crossing the land. Or a dunk as dull as a sloth's sword? It's all somehow tangled, including the origin of his squire Egg. Three closed but related novels from the world of Game of Thrones present G. R. R. Martin as readers fell in love with him long before the famous saga - as one of the best short story writers of the genre.
