Křesťan Robert a Druhá tráva: Robert Křesťan a Druhá tráva - CD

A re-release of an album from the golden age of our bluegrass music!

After many years, the 1991 recording that defined the entire genre in its Czech form is available again. The original classification as folk, or even country, was easily cast aside in favour of Robert Křesťan's original songs or the rare borrowings (Bob Dylan), offered by the band without any stylistic prejudices. In addition to the now-standard electrification, there was room for both classic instruments (dobro, lap steel) and more unusual additions (saxophone). The previously unreleased archival bonuses with alternative recordings only confirm this.

Křesťan's singing is enduringly credible, and the band of Messrs. Meisner, Novotný, and the Malina brothers doesn't show off, but serves as a clear hallmark. The original recordings were given a new lease of life in the Svengali studio, and the original cover was supplemented with, among other things, the singer's reflection on the era and the music.

Songwriting with a clear memorability, both as a whole and in its individual parts. The foundation for a further journey, continuing to this day and leading Druhá tráva successfully even to where their overseas role models were born. An undeniable impulse for a number of domestic followers—and a reason why this album must be permanently remembered!
