Kryl, Karel: To nejlepší - CD

Music that was forbidden before '89.
Music that became a symbol of 1989.

Kryl's most beloved songs on a unique compilation!

In 1993, Karel Kryl, together with Petr Dorůžka, selected a collection of songs from his pre-exile, early Munich, and initial post-communist periods. It features a total of 24 songs, evoking the most powerful and unforgettable moments.
This selection of what the artist himself considered his most enduring themes comes from the albums Bratříčku, zavírej vrátka, Rakovina, Maškary, Karavana mraků, and Tekuté písky, and is complemented by the song Děkuji from the EP Carmina resurrectionis.

The original release received exceptional audio and visual treatment. The current remastering allows even the most subtle nuances of the archive recordings to shine through.

The comprehensive new booklet features both Dorůžka's updated sleeve notes and documents and echoes from the time of the album's original release. Adorning it – in addition to unique photographs – are colour reproductions of six of Kryl's paintings (some published for the very first time), which complete the mood of the songs' creation and reflect his inner life.
