Ladislav Stroupežnický: Our Furiants

Ladislav Stroupežnický's classic realist play with the subtitle "a picture of life in a Czech village in four acts" premiered in 1887 at the National Theatre and has since become part of the Czech dramatic repertoire thanks to its qualities. Virtually every theatrical generation is trying to cope with this comedy in its own way. There are few plays that reveal our national character with such insight and surgical precision. In this historical recording you will hear Dana Medřická, Bořivoj Navrátil, František Smolík, Felix Le Breux, Jaroslav Drmolová, Václav Vydra, Vlasta Fabiánová, Bohumil Záhorský, František Filipovský and many other excellent actors.
