Land of Death

There's murder in Yorkshire too. The body of a young man is discovered on the beach of a seaside town and the investigation is taken up by the local sergeant and Inspector Raven, who arrives from London. A body is found on the beach of a seaside town at low tide. It is soon discovered that the dead young man had a promising future as the son of a local used car dealer. Who was interested in not living? Sergeant Becca Shawcross takes charge of the investigation and is joined by Chief Inspector Tom Raven, who is visiting Scarborough from London for his father's funeral. Although they were not close, he decides to stay in Scarborough to strengthen the local police force, which - as it turns out - needs new blood. During the investigation, not only do the complicated relationships between the local influential families begin to surface, but also the suspicious behaviour of the local police officers who are hiding evidence. Raven is also haunted by the events of his past that caused him to leave town. A brisk whodunit of classic style.
