Let Them Talk reflects Laurie' s fondness for blues and New Orleans music. The choice of repertoire and guest is subject to this, as is the choice of producer, which is Joe Henry, a cult figure on the American scene. He has experience with New Orleans styles, among other things, from his work on the album Meeting On Mission Street, which brought together a number of local artists. He also collaborated, among others. with Elvis Costello, Solomon Burke or Ani DiFranco. He also releases excellent albums of his own recordings on the border of folk, rock, blues and jazz.
