Led Zeppelin: Coda
LP Record A brilliant conclusion to the Led Zeppelin reissue. In compositional theory, a coda – from the Italian for "drag" or "tail" – refers to the final part of a piece, summarising the main themes. Jimmy Page aptly named the final Led Zeppelin studio album, released two years after the death of drummer John Bonham and the band's official split, "Coda". The eight tracks on the album were previously unreleased songs recorded between 1970 and 1978. The circumstances of John Bonham's death on 25 September 1980 sent shockwaves. The drummer choked on his own vomit in his sleep while in bed at Jimmy Page's house in Windsor. Excessive alcohol consumption has always been cited as the explanation. The remaining members of Led Zeppelin quickly decided to disband.
