Led Zeppelin: The Complete BBC Sessions (3x CD) - CD

The original recordings from the series filmed for the British BBC between 1969 and 1971 have been reissued with eight previously unreleased tracks, three of which come from a once-lost 1969 session. The record is available on 3CD or five 180g vinyl records, or as a box set which also includes a download option for hi-res 96kHz/16bit audio, plus a forty-eight-page book with photographs and other memorabilia. The first 20,000 box sets are numbered. As with previous reissues, guitarist Jimmy Page, who personally remastered the recording, oversaw this one. For Led Zeppelin fans, the three recordings from the session long thought lost, which had gained a mythical status in their eyes, will likely be the most valuable. In April 1969, the songs I Can't Quit You Baby, You Shook Me, and Sunshine Woman were recorded. According to Jimmy Page, the recording is proof of how organic Led Zeppelin were as a band: “We could fundamentally change things every time we played them.” His bandmate John Paul Jones once said in an interview with Wall Of Sound: “The recordings were made at a time when we were mostly touring. Our starting point was always the studio albums, but we continued to develop the songs on the road, and the tracks on BBC Sessions are captured in just such a phase.”

Led Zeppelin formed in 1968. Over the following decade, they became one of the most influential, innovative, and successful music groups in the world. Their recordings are among the most celebrated in rock 'n' roll history. Under the Led Zeppelin name, John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant have sold over 300 million albums. Their music resonates across generations.
