A letter from the holiday will be a pleasure. But will he bring good tidings from beyond the grave?
In 1990, a new era in the history of our state began, the old socialist structures collapsed and democracy took hold, with all its positive and negative effects on ordinary people, including police officers.
VB - Public Security - has been transformed into a police force, but the question of who will form it has not been resolved. Will all officers become police officers overnight? Are officials and politically active members about to retire to civilian life? Will experienced and renowned criminologists, such as the communist Eduard Burger, pay the price for the new changes, or will the new regime take them into its good graces? The dilemma will be resolved by the fateful decision of the newly elected president. He will take an ill-considered, short-sighted action - he will declare a broad amnesty.
The night streets are suddenly full of deviants, rapists and murderers, giving the modern detectives a chance to clean up, to prove their neediness to society. Everything is changing, the new democratic era is bringing new murders that surpass the old socialist ones in their brutality and bestiality. Everything is connected, the shadow of the past hovers not only over the detectives but also over the killers.
Nobody knows the answer to the question of who is looking forward to better times, only the future will tell.
