Life in the age of robots
How should humanity cope with artificial intelligence?
For prosperity, AI must serve individuals, not the other way around.
We are facing one of the greatest dilemmas in history – how to harness the potential of artificial intelligence while ensuring that humans remain human. AI can do many things better than us, but over time it will begin to demand our unlimited trust. But we have already given this to each other, to states, to institutions, to higher principles.
We are now to completely entrust ourselves to AI based on " objective rationality" – and allow our civilization to be fundamentally reshaped? Pay for comfort by losing identity, culture and human feelings?
In the book, the author presents a slightly different vision, which he calls AI for people – AI 4P. The driving force of progress is not always revolutionary social change – which, according to the Čapek brothers, breeds violence – but often these changes are gradual, brought about by new technologies at the service of individuals.
The brain, including reason, emotions, ideals, and intuition, will remain an irreplaceable authority protecting our evolutionary interests. Only in this way can our life remain a true story of trial and error, wins and losses.
