Life of a warrior
Those who knew called him the Unborn. Those who had a hunch said it would burn the world to the ground. This is his story. This is his life. The life of a warrior.
Sebasttyen was driven to fight from an early age. Himself the product of magical genetic manipulations that grant him rapid regeneration, superhuman reflexes and slowed aging, he was to serve as the perfect soldier to an immortal Emperor who may not even be human. But his life's journey will lead elsewhere. The elves are waiting for him, dragons, hideous beasts of magical creatures and men alike, of betrayal, alliances, of love, strong friendships and struggle. Lots of fighting. Sebasttyen makes his way through a world that is both cruel and beautiful, facing swords, magic and mad gods banished from the bottomless chasms of time.
Tomas Nemec's love letter to traditional epic fantasy draws on classic works of the genre and pays homage to greats such as Robert E. Howard, Andrei Sapkowski, David Gemmell, Terry Pratchett or Robert Zelazny.

They wrote about the book:
A book that will only be written once in a generation - and only once in a generation will it make perfect sense.
- Boris Hokr, CT art

Life of a Warrior is a strange book. It is an epilogue to an entire era of domestic and global fantasy, a gravestone of an era when the sword-wielding hero with a crafted story was the pinnacle of the genre. At the same time, it is a lively book with a perfect artwork that captivates at first sight.
- Jan Nohovec, Fantasya.cz

The Life of a Warrior is an honest and hilarious narrative that feels almost sympathetically old-fashioned in today's flood of young adult fantasy literature, and will keep you entertained on the long winter evenings ahead.

Tomas Nemec
Born in 1976 in Duchcov, North Bohemia. A worker of words, a lover of rubbish and a lifelong fan of FK Teplice. Especially for the latter, he expects to be canonized in the near future. He has published a handful of shorter pieces in anthologies and magazines, and contributed to the popular science fiction/fantasy series Agent JFK with the episodes The Cold Game (2006) and Shadow of the Legend (2007). In 2003, he won the Best Fantasy Literary Contest for the title The Sword Bearer, and his award-winning short story The Last of a Dying Nation became the basis for the book The Warrior's Life, written twenty years later. He lives in Kralupy nad Vltavou, works in Prague and when he has a little free time, he disappears into the bleak landscape of the Ore Mountains, his personal forest of mytags.
