Light the border
An old love, past guilt and painful penance. A thriller from a Magnesia Litera winner.
The last night of April is approaching, a night when, according to superstition, evil grows stronger and must be burned at the stake. In the village of Bučina in the Iron Mountains, preparations for the burning of the witches are underway. Aneta is drawn here by memories – of love and of death. This is where she made the worst of all her bad decisions. Now, she has come to find a blackmailer who is making her pay for their silence about her guilt. Her friend Veronika is keeping her company. When she accepts Aneta's invitation to a cottage beneath the romantic ruins, she isn't sure what to expect from the bizarre tradition. But it's certainly not murder. On Walpurgis Night in Bučina, it's not just the bonfire on the hill that will be set ablaze, but also an old hatred. And its flames are licking high.
