A CZECH MISS MARPLE? YOUNG. ECCENTRIC. A TEACHER.

What could be lovelier than Christmas in a small town? Brod is huddled under a blanket of snow and the local amateur dramatics society is preparing a new play. However, defamatory writing on the town hall wall and an accident on stage set off a chain of events that culminate in the death of two actors.

Who hates Mayor Miroslava Dostálová? Who is sabotaging the play rehearsals? Who decided to murder two members of the local company, and why? And how is the dilapidated house on Prubířská Street connected to it all?

These questions are keeping teacher Josefína Divíšková awake at night, and she decides to get to the bottom of the whole affair. Much to the chagrin of Commissioner Tvrdík and the entire police force. And when Tvrdík’s unbearable aunt, for whom Josefína is already a notorious thorn in her side, gets involved in the whole matter, the eccentric teacher has to deal with it all. And how else but with the wit, charm, and humour that are all her own.
