Lincoln (Oscar Edition) - DVD

Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" describes the last four months of the life of America's greatest president, Abraham Lincoln. It reveals the riskiest and boldest decision of an American leader at a time when the issue of slavery is escalating and the country is at war. A powerful human drama unfolds at the end. Lincoln can end the conflict, but he chooses to play the higher political game of trying to abolish slavery. He has to answer to himself whether more wasted lives are worth it. At that stellar moment in history, Lincoln must use every ounce of talent, courage and moral strength. He must make a decision that will make him a legend. The figure of Abraham Lincoln has always oscillated between myth and historical figure. It continues to engage the public imagination, perhaps more so today than ever. Perhaps because he has become a global symbol of the judicious use of power.
