Linhart, Petr: Autobus do Podbořan - CD

Petr Linhart, known as a singer-songwriter and also as the leading spirit of the folk-rock band Majerovky brzdové tabulky, has prepared another solo album titled Autobus do Podbořan. His first solo album, Sudéta, earned him an Anděl nomination from the Czech Academy of Popular Music. It seems this new record will be at least as powerful.

Thematically, the new album loosely follows on from the previous one. Besides reflecting on the contemporary eastern Karlovy Vary region, where the artist often spends his time today, it also offers song-stories from other places. It could be said, therefore, that the record is also a bit of a journey, an "on the bus" experience. For instance, it includes the almost-forgotten story of "Annenruhe", about a Romeo and Juliet from nineteenth-century Moravská Třebová. In contrast, the song Helga Braun returns to the Karlovy Vary region, to the former village of Skoky, where the artist is now involved in the restoration and revival of the local Baroque church.
