Lipa Peter, Andršt Luboš: Let The Good Times Roll - CD

When Luboš Andršt founded the Blues Band in 1980, he was 32 years old and had a long and varied musical career. From the age of eighteen he was in amateur rock bands such as the Roosters and Double Time, and by the age of twenty he was leading the trio Blues Company Ltd. He first recorded in the studio in December 1970 - it was the album City of Er by the Framus Five. After Framus broke up, he played for two years with Jazz Q, and can be heard on Pozorovatelna (1973). At the beginning of 1973 he formed the hard rock band Energit, which was soon banned. Andršt then revived Energit - with a different line-up and different music, Mahavishna jazz rock (album Energit, 1975). The second album Picnic (1978) was different again, bringing in a brass section and funk elements. He arranged with Petr Lipa, a Slovak singer five years older. Although he has not yet released a full-length album of his own, he has been written about with acclaim in the jazz press throughout Europe. He started singing in a bar in Prešov (1961), and in Bratislava he founded the group Strings (1963-1966) with his classmates from the Faculty of Construction. Before Christmas 1968, they performed in Lucerna at the second Czechoslovak Beat Festival and Peter Lipa was awarded as the Discovery of the Festival. Luboš Andršt is unfortunately no longer with us and we can only remember the Blues Band.
