Living Death: Protected From Reality - LP

Living Death was founded in 1980 by brothers Reiner and Dieter Kelch in Velbert. With vocalist Thorsten "Toto" Bergmann, second guitarist Frank Fricke and drummer Frank Schubring in the first line-up
was complete.
In 1982 the band released their first demo of the same name. In response to American bands like Anthrax and Metallica, the band released their debut album Vengeance from Hell in 1983, becoming one of the pioneers of metal in Europe.
Living Death played an early mixture of extreme metal styles, especially thrash and speed metal.
While the debut album is still criticized in retrospect that the sound was bad and the guitar riffs were rather trivial, the following albums were much more aggressive, this was also due to the change of drummer Atomic Steiff who took over the baton in 1986.

The album Protected From Reality, released in 1987, became a major cult hit for the band, winning them metal fans across Europe
