Agatha Christie's thrilling mystery Lord Edgware Dies
The dead speak. Yes, sometimes the dead speak... - Hercule Poirot
The beautiful actress Jane Wilkinson has declared that she may have to kill her husband - the wealthy but eccentric Lord Edgware - if he refuses to divorce her. Luckily, he meets Hercule Poirot, who agrees to make a deal. Much to the surprise of both the famous detective and Captain Hastings, the nobleman not only agrees to the dissolution of the union, but is said to have informed Lady Edgware of it long ago by letter. Amazed Jane is thrilled with the news! The following day, Inspector Japp visits the two old friends to inform them of the murder of Lord Edgware, who is said to have been stabbed in the neck by his wife at Regent Gate House. There is a catch, however, because, as reported in the morning papers - and later confirmed by a number of witnesses - the lady was a guest at a party in Chiswick at the time in question...
