Dr. Markéta Hejkalová is a writer and translator, primarily from Finnish. She works in both fiction and non-fiction. She is a prominent organiser on the Czech literary scene: since 1991, she has been organising the Autumn Book Fair in Havlíčkův Brod, runs the Hejkal publishing house, and has been actively involved in the Czech and international PEN clubs for many years. She has also led the Finnish Translation and Editorial Work Seminar at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University.
