Lost in Time

Martin spends the summer at his grandmother's in the countryside. Cursed deuce of manners - he could have been at sea by now! He's in the country now, where there are a couple of cottages and nothing else. It's a good thing Grandma can talk so well! Martin endures endlessly hearing about her little brother, who was just as mischievous as he was and who was killed by lightning when he was Martin's age. One day Martin sets off for a neighbouring village and is caught in the middle of a terrible storm. Thunder rumbles, lightning zigzags across the blackened sky, when suddenly the darkness is shattered by a tremendous flash accompanied by a strange purple glow. Martin falls to the ground and looks with anguish at the raging landscape. Suddenly he hears a sort of choking noise - a lone boy is running across the meadow towards a tall tree.
