The story of a fearless Scottish warrior brought to his knees by ambition and a lust for power.

This classic William Shakespeare drama returns to the big screen in a new version, following the wave of British adaptations of the Elizabethan playwright's works, starring today's acting elite.
Macbeth (Michael Fassbender) is a feared Scottish warrior, unfazed by furious battles. When he hears a prophecy on the heath that he will be the next king, he believes it. He has no idea what a great price he will have to pay. The path to the crown is paved with death and intrigue, which ultimately consumes both Macbeth and his ambitious wife.

Australian director Justin Kurzel has approached the classic material with a flair for spectacular visuals, emphasising the breathtaking landscape and intense acting performances.
