Malia: Convergence black

LP Record Malia recorded her new album with Swiss producer Boris Blank. The title, "Convergence", means exactly that: a coming together. And that's what this album is about in so many ways: the convergence of the two artists' different ideas, the interplay between Blank's electronic sounds and Malia's organic voice, and a soulful jazz singer's approach to the electronic scene where Boris Blank, as one half of the duo Yello, set the tone for many years and made his name as a bold pioneer of sampling. The eleven songs on this intense album are about life and survival. They are anthems filled with tragic moments and dramatic realisations, telling stories of ghosts, prostitution, slavery, illness, spirituality and, of course, love.
