Man from Brno
Who could investigate this murder better than him? Honestly? Anyone!
Every Prague needs its Brno, where things happen… that could only ever happen in Brno.
Prague police officer Josef Ječmínek finds this out the hard way when he is transferred against his will to a station in Brno-Komárov. There he meets the constantly hungry Major Vítámvás, who looks up to the legacy of T. G. Masaryk, former football star Constable Píč with ruined joints, Lobo with mild brain dysfunction caused by a wild lifestyle in the nineties, Brenda Kakáčová with a somewhat unreadable facial expression, and Pája from Cejl, otherwise known as Palermo Rolex Lakatoš.
Can a Prague native solving the strange murder of a homeless woman in Prýgl bring about justice? This city requires a lot of courage. And, above all, patience. Petra Klabouchová takes you through places where enthusiasm clashes with misunderstanding, innocent theory with harsh practice, and reality… with Brno.
Petra Klabouchová
Petra Klabouchová comes from Husinec in South Bohemia, a place that has always favoured revolutionary ideas. After studying journalism and psychology at Masaryk University in Brno, she turned to writing. She developed her literary talent as a manager of rock bands while travelling around Europe and the USA. She captured these wild and loud years in her book Na plný koule. Her literary repertoire also includes the fun, child-friendly Upíří storky, a look back at the 1980s in Poslední kubánské pomeranče, an excursion into the legacy of ancient Egypt in Podvod zlatého faraona, and the psychological crime thriller Anglická zahrada. She made her biggest impact with the detective story Prameny Vltavy, about evil rising from the depths of the author's native region. She also writes about a crime shrouded in decades of silence in her book U severní zdi.
