Jack Hawthorn and I did everything backwards. He proposed the first time we met. For a man so withdrawn and yet so captivating, with eyes as blue as ice, you'd expect him to only want to marry the love of his life. But he wanted to marry me: a complete stranger whose fiancé had just broken up with her moments before.

The right reaction would have been to laugh in his face and call him crazy. And that's exactly what I did... before I accepted his offer. The wedding took place a few days later, and it was beautiful. Or at least, I wish it had been. In reality, it was awful. Jack isn't at all what I'd imagined him to be.
