Meeting in Canterbury

A superbly cast adaptation of two Canterbury Tales. The playwright Jaromír Ptáček chose two of the twenty-six short stories - the story of a woman from Bath about a knight who has to find out what women want most, and a boatman's story about a rich merchant, his vain wife and a young monk. The basic situation of Chaucer's work, where a very diverse company of pilgrims to Canterbury compete in a pub for the best story, has also been retained. The director Olga Zezulová invited top actors - Jiří Tomek - to collaborate with her, Vilma Nováčková, Rudolf Chromek, Josef Karlik, Otakar Dadák, Rudolf Krátký, Helena Kružíková and others.
