Megadeth: Rust In Peace / Countdown To Extinction (2x CD) - CD

Megadeth is an American heavy metal band, founded in 1983 by guitarist / vocalist Dave Mustaine and bassist Dave Ellefson. Mustaine wanted to form a faster and better band than Metallica, from which he was fired.

Since the band' s inception, 13 studio albums have been released. Megadeth are referred to as pioneers of the thrash metal movement along with the rest of the “Big Four of Thrash“ - Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax.

“Rust in Peace“ is the fourth studio album by the American group Megadeth. He is considered the best creation of the band so far. Guitar virtuoso Marta Friedman appeared on it and with Dave Mustain they formed a major guitar duo on it.
The opening song of Holy Wars deals with the themes of the contemporary Middle East, in instrumental works it is known for its torn riffs, Friedman' s oriental solo and Mustain' s “sword“ and solo climax.
The second song is the anthem Hangar 18, in which there are only two verses of singing and seventeen guitar solos. According to the lyrics, Hangar 18 is a secret laboratory located in the Nevada desert, where extraterrestrial beings are deported and illegal experiments are carried out there.
The album also includes war songs such as Take No Prisoners and Dawn Patrol, themed mass death and martial arts, or songs about Mustain' s personal life such as Lucretia and Tornado of Souls.
The remastered version was released in 2004 and several bonus tracks appeared on it

“Countdown to Extinction“ is the fifth studio album by the American trash-metal band Megadeth, released on July 6, 1992 on Capitol Records.
This is the band' s second studio album to feature a “classic“ line-up: Dave Mustaine, Marty Friedman, David Ellefson and Nick Menza, all of whom co-wrote the album.
