If it weren' t for Šlágr television, the three musicians from Moravia would probably never have met again. Pavel Krška' s Merry Trinity Band was formed only in April 2013 to make several video clips for this station.
“I had been composing songs for a long time before, and then I was approached from Šlágr if I would like to try to release an author' s CD. That' s when I remembered friends I played with sometime in the 1960s. Our paths parted over the course of our lives, but now that we' re all retired, we met again, put this group together, and got ready for our first performance. That' s how it all started, “recalls Pavel Krška.
The cheerful trio sings folk songs. He accompanies himself on accordions and uses rhythms and accompaniment from the keyboards. The band' s repertoire is dominated by their own work. The author of all songs is Pavel Krška. According to him, his own life and experience inspire him. “When a person exceeds the limit of fifty years, he begins to look back, to remember the beautiful thing he has experienced, to remember his first loves. And that' s where my songs come from. They are all from life, and I dare say that is probably why they have had such success with the listeners. People get to know each other in them, “he comments.
Pavel Krška likes humor, so he often writes cheerful and ambiguous texts. But there are also emotionally focused songs. When composing, it usually starts with a melody. “When I' m in an emotional state, even in the morning after a party, I wear an accordion and play melodies that just occur to me. When do I get some? one of them seems interesting, I start recording it and usually a suitable text also jumps in it in my head. Suddenly I feel what words are best for it, “he explains.
According to him, the importance of Šlágr television is absolutely crucial in the case of the Merry Three. “Without Šlágr, there would be nothing, not even our band. Before, we even played in public, but somehow unnoticed. It was only thanks to television that we were able to get our songs to people in the kitchen. People let them go in peace, listened to the lyrics, which is not entirely possible in public production, discovered the content of the songs and they liked it, “he says.
The number of fans of the band is still growing. The listeners liked a number of songs. “One of the most popular is the song I have at home Máňa, people like it because of the fun. But you also like, for example, Thanks to you, which describes the memory of your parents. In short, there are enough favorite songs, you can' t choose just one, “adds another member of the Merry Troika, Miroslav Hrdlička.
The band now gives a lot of concerts and also travels to the village of Dubné near České Budějovice, where Šlágr TV is based. “We have about 300 kilometers here from the Moravian Karst, but because we no longer go to work, we can come whenever it is needed,“ says Pavel Krška.
