Milt Jackson, Charles Ray: Soul Brothers - LP

Milt Jackson, Charles Ray: Soul Brothers - LP
Soul Brothers is the third album recorded by Ray Charles and the eleventh album by Milt Jackson and released by Atlantic Records in 1958.
Nickname "The Genius", which was one of many, already won by an American singer during his lifetime, pianist and composer, by his own name, Ray Charles Robinson, says it all. Suffering from blindness from the age of seven, he still managed to become one of the most important musicians of the 20th century, especially for his contribution to the development and mass popularisation of genres such as soul, blues and rhythm and blues. "It may sound like sacrilege, but in my opinion Ray Charles was more important than Elvis Presley," said famous colleague Billy Joel about him. Milt Jackson was an American jazz vibraphonist and composer. Throughout his career, he has released numerous albums under his own name and collaborated with many other musicians, including Cannonball Adderley, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie and Oscar Peterson. He was a long-time member of the Modern Jazz Quartet.
