Misik Vladimir: Jednou tě potkám - CD + LP

Vladimír Mišík’s new solo album is interwoven with a frank life confession.

Album JEDNOU TĚ POTKÁM (I'll Meet You Someday) contains 14 songs created in collaboration with the musicians of producer Petr Ostrouchov’s Blue Shadows. After 45 years, an album from the legend of the Czech music scene is hitting the market without his home band, ETC.
"The whole project was born from musical harmony. And because of the sensitive themes of the songs, I consider it the most personal one I have ever created," says Vladimír Mišík, who celebrated his 72nd birthday in March.

The fascinating story behind this new release is reminiscent of a thrilling Hollywood drama. The singer never knew his father and, until his seventieth birthday, believed he was an only child. It was only during the filming of a documentary two years ago that it was revealed the musician has eight siblings in the USA. "Vladimír's father was an American soldier his mother met at the end of the Second World War. He was said to have fallen in the Korean War, but that wasn't true," says Šimon Kotek from the 100PROmotion record label.

The unexpected discovery of a large family is the theme of the track Brothers. Mišík recorded it for the first time as a Czech-English duet with Irish singer-songwriter Paul Brady. On this album, Vladimír Mišík’s own lyrics are once again paired with poems set to music (Jiří Orten, Bohuslav Reynek, František Gellner, Jan Skácel.).
The entire album is named after the title track JEDNOU (Someday), with lyrics by the poet Václav Hrabě. "I see it as my confession. The lyrics touch me because they are not just about meeting a girl. It can also be about that fateful, final meeting," adds the singer.

. I sang about a sunny grave
in that abnormal time,
when Russian tanks ploughed my land.
