Mňága a Žďorp: Friction Surfaces - LP

Mňága a Žďorp: Friction Surfaces - LP
The fourteenth studio album from the band Mňága a Žďorp, released in 2019 and titled Třecí plochy (Friction Surfaces). It contains 12 songs and opens with a cover of the song Je to nejistý by J.A.R.
Following their successful collaboration on the album Třínohý pes, the band decided to work with producer Milan Cimfe again. They recorded Třecí plochy in May at Sono Studio.
Some of the songs emerged from older demos, while others are brand new. As the album's title suggests, the central theme is relationships. Třecí plochy also features a number of guests. The regular collaborators, who even joined the band for several summer festivals, are former Buty member and keyboardist Milan Nytra and singer Jitka Andrášková. On the album, you will also hear Luboš Novotný from Druhá tráva and the brass section from the band Brass Avenue.
Mňága a Žďorp is a Czech rock band from Valašské Meziříčí (more precisely, the founding members are from there). The band began to form as early as 1983. Over the years, the line-up has changed frequently. Initially, they performed under the name Slepé střevo, and members of Mňága were also active in other bands (Velký plytkoš, Happyend). However, these bands eventually disbanded, and since 1987, they have been known solely as Mňága a Žďorp.
