Mňága and Žďorp: Friction surfaces - CD

This is the fourteenth studio album from the band Mňága a Žďorp, released in 2019 and entitled Třecí plochy (Friction Surfaces). It contains 12 songs and opens with a cover of the song Je to nejistý (It's Uncertain) by J.A.R.

Following the successful collaboration on the album Třínohý pes (Three-Legged Dog), the band decided to work with producer Milan Cimfe again. The band recorded Třecí plochy in May at Sono Studio.
Some songs emerged from older demos, while others are brand new. As the album's title suggests, the central theme is relationships. Třecí plochy also features a number of guests. The permanent ones, who also toured several festivals with the band over the summer, are former Buty member, keyboardist Milan Nytra, and singer Jitka Andrášková. You will also hear Luboš Novotný from Druhá tráva and the brass section from the band Brass Avenue on the album.

Mňága a Žďorp is a Czech rock band from Valašské Meziříčí (more precisely, the founding core of the band comes from there). The band has been forming since 1983. The line-up changed frequently over the years. Initially, they performed under the name Slepé střevo (Blind Gut), and members of Mňága also played in other bands (Velký plytkoš, Happyend). However, these bands disbanded, and since 1987, they have been known only as the band Mňága a Žďorp.
