Monastery / Return

Sometimes it's better to leave the past unresolved. Major Roman Sagan is as tough as the region he operates in. In two detective stories, he investigates two scars on the face of the Silesian region – meth labs and the transformations of the nineties. Major Roman Sagan from the Ostrava homicide squad is a peculiar character. His colleagues call him the Blond Pitbull and Roaring R; his mates at the pub lovingly call him a womaniser and a bastard. He chain-smokes Camels, exclusively listens to Rammstein in his car, and is never satisfied with his life, though he is just a little more content when he manages to solve a murder on his patch. Czech Silesia is a harsh region, where people speak a bit of Czech, a bit of Polish, a bit of the 'po naszymu' dialect. They're used to mining coal and forging steel, and when they take a dislike to someone, it sometimes ends with a criminal investigation. The stories Klasztor and Návrat are a seamless continuation of the previous trilogy Čtverka, Dwur, Kruhy.
