Moon over the prairie
Comanche Moon is the second book in the epic Lonesome Dove tetralogy, the culmination of Larry McMurtry's unique vision of the American West. It covers a twenty-year period between the novels Dead Man's Walk and Lonesome Dove.
Texas Rangers Augustus McCrae and Woodrow Call, now mature men, continue to face the ever-increasing hardships of adult life. Gus is dealing with his fateful love for Clara Forsythe, and Call with Maggie Tilton, a young prostitute who loves him.
Two heroic men, friends, though completely different from one another, set out with a company of Rangers to pursue Buffalo Hump, the great Comanche war chief; Kicking Wolf, a renowned Comanche horse thief; and Ahumado, a ruthless Mexican bandit with a lust for torture. In their arduous effort to protect the advancing western frontier from the defiant Comanches, who are determined to defend their land and way of life to their last breath, they are aided by their comrades Deets, Jake Spoon, and Pea Eye Parker.
The book Comanche Moon is being published in Czech for the very first time.
