Moon over the River - DVD

The story from a small town depicts the quiet resignation of Jan Hlubina, once the best student at the local grammar school, who succumbed to the pressure of external circumstances, disappointed his hopes and became stuck in the town as a paperboy. These disappointed hopes are followed by the emotional fate of his daughter Slávka, who resists the bourgeois idea of the necessity of marriage, even without love, as the only solution to a woman's life. Everything changes when she meets Vilík Roškot, who accompanies his father to the small town where the graduation convention is being held. Under the spell of a moonlit evening and a roaring river, the two young people experience a love affair that causes a violent conflict between reason and emotion in Slávka.
