Robert Wiliam Gary Moore known as Gary Moore (4. April 1952, Belfast Northern Ireland - February 6, 2011, Estepona, Spain) was an Irish blues-rock guitarist. He began playing guitar at the age of eleven and became a member of the Dublin band Skid Row at sixteen.

After leaving the band, he founded the Gary Moore Band in 1973 and released his debut album Grinding Stone. A year later, he became a member of Thin Lizzy and recorded the album Night Life with them. He then joined Colosseum II and released Strange New Flesh and Electric Savage with them in the second half of the 1970s.

In 1978, he became independent, recording the album Back on the Streets, with singer, guitarist and bassist Phil Lynott from Thin Lizzy. In 1979, the title track and ballad “Parisienne Walkways“ from this album first hit the charts.
