Murders with a mark

Saana Havas was fired from her job at the online newspaper, but she still feels she burned out long ago. Although the summer at her aunt's house in the sleepy town of Hartola seems like a great opportunity to relax, her journalistic instinct fails her and Saana becomes interested in the death of a young girl, Helena, thirty years ago, which has never been fully solved.

While searching to find out if Helena committed suicide or if someone helped her under the local river, a corpse is found on the Helsinki island of Suomenlinna with a freshly burned royal crown on her body. Because of the unusual design, top police commissioner Jan Heino is immediately called to the scene. His concern, that this is the work of a serial killer, will be confirmed and the trail will lead him to Hartol, towns, which not only boasts a proud history, but calls itself a kingdom.

And there two police cases and two human fates intersect…
