Mute

At first glance, Markéta leads a calm, orderly life that might even seem a little too boring. Everything changes, however, when the newly launched NEM app starts to spread among people. It is through this app that an erotic video featuring Markéta is made public, a video she has no idea even exists.
The search for the video's origin throws her into a whirlwind of events that uncover long-forgotten secrets, impact her closest relationships, and force her to ask uncomfortable questions. Can her marriage withstand such a shock? And what about her career as a teacher—can it survive a scandal like this?
Against the backdrop of Markéta's story, a disturbing picture of the contemporary world unfolds, in which artificial intelligence is increasingly penetrating daily life and the world of online erotica teeters between the promise of quick success and social downfall.
The Mute is a suspenseful story about intimacy, trust, and how easily even the most orderly life can collapse under the pressure of the emerging digital world.
