Nat King Cole: Greatest Hits CLR

LP Record Born in Alabama in 1917, Nat 'King' Cole began his musical career in the 1940s with his own jazz trio, but his skills as an innovative jazz pianist were soon surpassed by his otherworldly talent as a ballad singer. Cole's phrasing, his extraordinary ability to interpret a song, and his phenomenal style made his singing feel natural and effortless. He was smoother than Sinatra, cooler than Crosby, but when it came to singers, Nat Cole was the true king. His polished approach influenced not only other ballad singers but also an entire generation of 1960s soul singers. This 16-track greatest hits collection is an excellent selection.
