Neckář Václav: The Greatest Hits 1965 - 2013 - CD

Václav Neckář's greatest hits all on one CD! It was a difficult task, but it's done: both long-time fans and new admirers will find a collection of 22 of the most essential tracks from his past, personally approved by the singer – plus one extra song – the new single “Podzim” (Autumn).

From 1965 to 2013, a great deal happened in Václav N.'s musical career. With a newly purchased guitar, he walked through the shadow of cathedrals into a beautiful garden. Did Dr. Dam Di Dam or perhaps a wandering player bring the good news about who enters our dreams? He wanted to kiss Mademoiselle Giselle, but perhaps – because of their long hair – also Máša and Anna. Love was sometimes lost, but he kept on going with his brother Jan and the band Bacily.

A leaping young man, an inventive interpreter of cover songs, a romantic balladeer, almost a rocker, tasteful, pleasant, melodic, and memorable for his excellent lyrics. After all the artistic and personal ups and downs came “Půlnoční” (Midnight), one of the greatest comebacks in our pop history. The added track, number 23, clearly shows that the collaboration between the Neckář brothers and the musical group around Jaromír Švejdík and Dušan Neuwerth is more than just a one-off single or album; it's a promising, shared delight for both musicians and listeners.

Václav Neckář, now in his seventies, can offer a justifiably proud look back and equally justified optimism for future songs. This compilation is clear proof, filled with genuine hits.

22 greatest hits in their original versions – plus one new one!
