New Civil Code

Navigate the new Civil Code! The revolutionary changes in civil law will affect everyone from 1 January 2014. The new series of popular and educational publications comprehensively covering the whole range of issues regulated by the new Civil Code is intended mainly for readers who are not legal experts but need to orient themselves in the new legal regulation. In the third part of the editorial series we define the concept of thing and the division of things. Next, we deal with individual absolute rights, i.e. primarily possession and ownership, including the possible acquisition of ownership from an unauthorized person. We deal separately with co-ownership and deal with the administration of the common property and the separation and dissolution of co-ownership. We pay special attention to flat co-ownership, especially the rights and obligations of the unit owner. Last but not least, we deal with rights in rem to other people's property, especially the newly introduced right of construction, but also with easements, liens and retention rights, as well as the completely new regulation of the management of other people's property.
