No one is alone
Taking care of a public library, plus a husband and two teenage children, can be quite challenging. Veronika, however, managed her difficult role quite well - until her mother's death added the worry of an unbearable father with a big house, a garden and several dogs. Even the increasing amount of wine she drinks and cigarettes she smokes can't shake the feeling that she is slowly failing on all fronts - as a director, wife, mother and daughter. But she can't cut herself, and if she doesn't want to end up in an asylum, she'll have to find a way to please everyone while not forgetting herself...
A new novel by a successful Czech author with a patent for family dramas.
