Old Lady' s Boudoir: Salt - CD

Brno's alternative rock icon Budoár staré dámy (The Old Lady's Boudoir) is releasing its new, fifth album on CD and LP (a beautiful yellow vinyl). These are urgent songs you either have to listen to or turn off. The new record from Budoár staré dámy is called Sůl (Salt) and it came together slowly, as is often the case when band members are having children and building houses. The author, singer, and guitarist Marta Kovářová describes its creation:

In addition to Marta's own lyrics, the album also features, for example, a musical setting of a text by the poet Karel Šiktanc, Lubor Kasal, the artist Paul Klee, and two recipes for strange dishes. The music is also less melancholic and more playful compared to the last two albums. It feels as if the Boudoir has been aired out, but without abandoning its original, homemade recipe. The salted material was mixed by Ondřej Ježek at Jámor studio. The original CD and LP cover was designed by Marta Kovářová herself. The group emerged from a boiler room in Brno in 1998, has gone through a number of changes, but alternative rock has been with them throughout their existence. Untrained expression, shouting, normal clothes... a personal discovery suitable for all ages.
