Old Men on Hops (DIGITALLY RESTORED FILM) - Blu-ray

“This story you’re about to see, which begins so very strangely,
your child could have lived it, whether the family wanted it or not.
Your child can live this story, and not just at the hop-picking brigade,
and if you think about it, it has achieved its purpose.”

The most famous Czech film musical, set during a student hop-picking brigade, in a digitally restored version.
The plot follows the story of a first love that clashes with the lack of understanding from classmates and teachers alike. The relaxed atmosphere of the mid-sixties allowed the creators to balance the more serious themes of morality and generational conflict with a satirical subtext.

DIGITALLY RESTORED FILM
Digital restoration is a frame-by-frame enhancement of a film, allowing you to see and hear it just as the audience did at its premiere.
The digital restoration process begins by scanning the film in 4K resolution. This involves special equipment with registration pins to ensure maximum image stability. This is followed by the removal of visual and audio impurities in two phases – first semi-automatically, then manually, cleaned frame by frame.
