Oldřich Daněk: The National Bank Raid

Although connoisseurs of Czech drama associate Oldřich Daňek's work with titles that usually contain a serious and philosophically attuned view of specific historical events, in the case of this play it is a completely different genre. It is a humorous parody of gangster stories based on the invention of a fictional drug that could supposedly replace the institution of prison. The story is full of funny dialogues, political allusions and gives an opportunity to reflect on the manipulatability of the world.
