Once upon a time there was a house

We'll all end up there one day. At the final station. Whether we like it or not.

A lot of people don't want to admit it. They're still young, healthy, and it feels like it's a long way off. Others are getting closer, but forbid themselves from thinking about it. And many others simply have no heart.

I don't want us to be afraid of old age. I would just like us to understand. And for us to learn to look at old age with reverence, respect, consideration, and empathy. That's why I decided to write stories that touch me deeply. Stories from life, presented in a way that won't hurt or harm anyone, and so that no one will recognise themselves or a loved one in them. Stories of elderly people who, for various reasons, had to live out their final years, months, days, and hours away from home. Any similarity in names is purely coincidental.
