Oncology for neoncologists

The general section describes the basic properties of malignant tumours. Separate chapters are dedicated to epidemiology, carcinogenesis, tumour staging, the symptoms of cancerous diseases, treatment planning, evaluation of treatment response, and comprehensive anti-tumour therapy. There are also chapters on acute conditions in oncology and malnutrition.

The special section describes the most common tumours encountered by general practitioners and doctors in fields other than oncology, from ENT tumours through CNS tumours, lung tumours, GIT tumours, breast tumours, and gynaecological tumours to kidney and bladder tumours.
The aim of this book is not to provide a complete list of all malignancies, but for the reader to understand the basic principles of oncological treatment strategy – to this end, the authors use specific examples and a number of tables, illustrations, and diagrams.
The book is intended primarily for general practitioners and non-oncologist doctors who care for patients with oncological diseases. It is also intended for undergraduate study at medical faculties.
