Panna - DVD

Mrs Piskořová (A. Nedošinská), the owner of a failing guesthouse, is pushing her daughter Klára (V. Ferbasová) to marry an older architect, Mr Kacik (J. Steimar), for financial reasons. This philanderer has left his wife and her adult daughter, Milena (Rosůlková, Langová), and is now trying to secure a divorce. However, Klára is secretly engaged to Prokop (Vondrovič), a waiter at their guesthouse. To complicate matters further, a banker named Jonát (Šlégl) also begins to woo Klára – he is the only one who knows that the land Klára will receive as her dowry contains coal deposits. When her parents pressure Klára to choose between the two older suitors, she bravely declares that it is too late.
