Pavel Kosatík: Czech Moments

Selected courageous and heroic deeds or, on the contrary, tricky and not very flattering moments from the history of the 20th century can serve as a subject for discussions about the Czechs, Czechism and the Czech national character. The "moment" is actually a fiction in history. The years that children learn by heart in schools deceive us. The actual events are spread out over a much greater breadth of time, preceded by a period of preparation and casting a shadow into the future. No victory or defeat ceases with the setting of the sun, but lasts until the victors or the defeated, and often generations of their descendants, cease to remember them. So even though the "moments" don't exist, maybe it makes sense to talk about them?
